Rita O’Brien Design Group was founded in 2007 but Rita’s fascination with interior design started over 20 years ago. As a former realtor, she dabbled in projects for years before making it her full-time passion. Self-taught from day one, Rita finds inspiration from items of interest that intrigue the senses.
Rita believes interior design is defined best when the finished project completes the clients vision while incorporating the clients personal lifestyle. From transitional to eclectic, Rita’s unique style is tailored specifically to each clients individual tastes blending furnishings, colors and surprising touches that can’t be duplicated.
Colleen O'Brien-Seitz developed a passion for design through family inspiration, however, it was only a few years ago that she began to test her design skills. After working for 13 years as the Lead Social Worker on the Liver Transplant Team at Chicago's Loyola University Medical Center, Colleen left her role to make her way back home to Detroit. She honed her skills for two years along side designers at the Michigan Design Center before accepting an offer at Rita O'Brien Design Group in 2018. Although her educational background is drastically different than typical interior designers, her skills developed during her Clinical Social Work career apply to all careers where interpersonal relationships are the foundation of successful work, with interior design being the greatest example of just that.
